FASTag
Overview
IDBI FASTag is a thick paper based tag / device that use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for making toll payments directly from the Prepaid Wallet, Savings or Current account linked to it. It is to be affixed on the windscreen of your vehicle, which enables you to drive through toll plazas, without stopping for cash payments as toll charges.
The Government of India has mandated that all new vehicles being sold with effect from 1st December, 2017 are to be affixed with FASTag. The “FASTag Partner App” will facilitate more than 6000 dealers in the country to access a single platform and activate the FASTag at the time of delivery of vehicle.
IDBI FASTag has been made mandatory on 600 + National Highways toll plazas (check for the list here), and is acceptable across over and selected 54+ State highways toll plazas. From 15th December 2019 all lanes at National Highway toll plaza will be declared as dedicated FASTag Lane except for one Hybrid lane. Non -FASTag users will be charged double the fee if they pass through FASTag lanes.

- Login to IDBI Go Mobile+ app
- Go to Request
- Choose FASTag
- Click on Recharge
- Enter vehicle number
- Enter amount
- Enter OTP or soft token
- and the FASTag will be recharged.

- Click on Recharge
- Enter vehicle number

- Enter your password and OTP
- and then the wallet will be recharged.

- Visit any UPI App such as BHIM, PayTm, Phone Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, IDBI Go Mobile UPI etc.
- Enter VPA which follows common pattern for all FASTags i.e. NETC. vehicle number@idbi, eg. if vehicle number is DL3CBE5636 vpa shall be netc.dl3cbe5636@idbi
- After entering VPA as above, click on send money
- Enter amount to be reloaded
- FASTag is recharged

- Click on Recharge
- Select option IDBI FASTag
- Enter Vehicle Number

- Click on customer login,
- Enter login details received at the time of registration,

Please note:
- Taxes, as applicable, will be levied on all the prescribed fees & charges at the applicable rates.
- Convenience fee will be applicable for online recharge.
- Threshold amount is the minimum recharge amount to be done at the time of tag activation.
- The above mentioned tag deposit rates would be applicable as per the vehicle class and will be refunded at the time of closure of FASTag account.
- Toll charges will be deducted as per the applicable amount, depending on the vehicle class and the plaza used. Charges mentioned above are subject to change.
- Security amount would be applicable as per the vehicle class and will be refunded to the customer at the time of closure of RFID Tag account.
- Note: Toll charges deduction from the IDBI FASTag account will be as per the respective toll plazas basis.

How to recharge your IDBI Bank FASTag account?
IDBI Bank FASTag can be recharged modes like- I-net Banking, NEFT/RTGS, UPI, Credit Card, Debit Card, Cheque, Cash etc. For recharging your FASTag through UPI, send money using UPI netc.vrn@idbi , for example if your Vehicle Registration number (VRN) is MH03 AA 1234 then use netc.mh03aa1234@idbi as your VPA for recharge through UPI.

Terms And Conditions
These terms and conditions are applicable to all the FASTag holders obtained FASTag from IDBI Bank/ the Bank. These terms and conditions are in addition to any other terms and conditions stipulated by the Bank from time to time.
FASTag issued by IDBI Bank is a thick paper based tag / device that use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for making toll payments directly from the Prepaid Wallet, Savings or Current account linked to it. It is to be affixed on the windscreen of your vehicle, which enables you to drive through toll plazas, without stopping for cash payments as toll charges.
The IDBI FASTag facilitates transactions at toll plazas against the balance already available in the account connected to the Tag Holder with IDBI Bank. . It is the Tag Holder's obligation to maintain a sufficient balance in the designated account to meet the toll transaction and service charges. The Bank, at its discretion may amend the Terms and Conditions governing IDBI FASTag services. Tag holders will be notified of such changes through notification on the Bank's website which will be binding on the Tag holder. The Bank reserves the right to introduce new facilities or remove existing facilities as and when warranted, without assigning any reasons thereof.
The Bank may, at its discretion, refuse any application for the Tag without assigning any reason. Fees charged (if any) for the use of the Tag are not refundable under any circumstances. The Bank has the right to withdraw the privilege attached to the Tag and to call upon the Tag Holder to surrender the Tag through the service provider of the Bank, or their representatives or any other representative of the Bank, without assigning any reason. If it is found at the of issuance of tag, that customer is already having tag with other bank, then it is customer responsibility to surrender the existing tag to the respective bank & remove the same before affixing IDBI bank Tag.
Loss/Stolen RFID Tag: In case of Loss/Stolen of the Vehicle or any other scenarios of loss/stolen of IDBI FASTag, the IDBI FASTag Holders should immediately lodge an FIR in the local police station and should be able to produce the relevant documents to the Bank. The Tag Holder should immediately notify the Contact Centre regarding the loss of the Tag. The Customer Contact Centre will ask for certain information about the Tag Holder and arrange for blocking the Tag to ensure that it is blocked/ not used fraudulently by any person. The Bank/service provider of the Bank will not be liable for any financial loss arising out of unauthorized use of the Tag till such time the Bank blocks the Tag (disabling the utilization of the Tag). The Tag Holder should always keep a separate note of his/her IDBI FASTag number, relevant documents and the associated account number in a place readily accessible after purchase of the IDBI FASTag.
Replacement/Surrender/Closure of the Tag: The Tag Holder shall give a written request for cancellation/surrender/closure of the Fast Tag along with the Existing Tag. In case, the existing tag is damaged, the Tag Holder shall surrender the damaged tag. New tag will be issued to the Tag Holder after charging fees of the new Tag. In case of the death of the Tag Holder, Legal heirs of the customer may claim the refund of the Tag amount after producing death certificate and other relevant documents.
The Bank and its agents shall not be liable for any loss/inconvenience caused by a technical breakdown of the payment system. The IDBI FASTag is the property of the Bank and will be returned by Tag user unconditionally and immediately to the bank/service provider upon request by the Bank. The Bank reserves the right to cancel the IDBI FASTag and stop its operations unilaterally without assigning any reason. The decision of the Bank is conclusive and binding upon the Tag holder. The IDBI FASTag is non-transferable.
In future, the use of FASTag may be extended towards other payments related to vehicle, such as Parking charges/ Fuel refilling / Enforcement etc. Regulatory authorities i.e. NHAI / IHMCL / NPCI and / or State Govts. / Govt of India through its ministries, will be issuing guidelines related to such expansions of FASTag from time to time and the same shall be applicable to all FASTags issued by IDBI Bank.
In case of any difficulty while paying the toll charges through the Tag at the Toll Plaza or any other issues related to the TAG, the Tag Holder may instantly call on the IDBI customer care on 18002661962 or may get in touch with the Tag issuing service provider of the Bank.

- Issuance / Re-issuance Charges (Inclusive of Taxes) : Rs. 100
- Applicable taxes will be levied on all type of top ups and transactions.
- A minimum convenience fee will be levied for all kind of top ups, recharge of the IDBI FASTag.
- Minimum Balance is the minimum recharge amount to be done at the time of RFID tag activation.
- Security amount would be applicable as per vehicle class and will be refunded to the customer at the time of closure of the RFID Tag Account.
The Tag Holder agrees to indemnity and keep IDBI Bank indemnified against all and any claims, suits, liability, damage, losses, costs, charges expenses, proceedings and action of any nature whatsoever made or instituted against IDBI Bank or incurred by IDBI Bank on account of usage of the IDBI FASTag by the Tag Holder.
The account holder/(s) certify that: a) The information provided in the Form is in accordance with section 285BA of the Income Tax Act, 1961 read with Rules 114F to 114H of the Income tax Rules, 1962. b) the information provided by me/us in the Form, its supporting Annexures as well as in the documentary evidence provided by me/us are, to the best of our knowledge and belief, true, correct and complete and that I/we have not withheld any material information that may affect the assessment / categorization of the account as a Reportable account or otherwise.
I hereby declare that the information provided by me in this application form is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief for the issuance of IDBI Bank FASTag. I also undertake to inform the Bank of any changes therein, immediately. In case any of the above information is found to be false or untrue or misleading or misrepresenting, I am aware that I may be held liable for it.
How To Apply
A customer can either apply online via link pro vided at IDBI Bank website i.e. www.idbibank.in/fastag or apply offline by approaching our any Branch of IDBI Bank and/or any POS location in the, and with valid KYC documents and vehicle RC copy along with the originals for verifications purposes, the customer can open hi s/her account in two categories IDBI FASTag is linked to an account (prepaid/Saving or Current account); KYC documentation would be required as per the KYC policy of the Issuer Bank. Apart from the KYC documentation, you have to submit Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle along with the application for IDBI FASTag.
It can be issued as per below details:
01. Limited KYC FASTag account holder
- This type of FASTag cannot have more than Rs. 10,000*/- limit in their IDBI FASTag (Prepaid) account. The monthly reload limit is also capped to Rs. 10,000/-.
- Requirements: Minimum KYC details (as per Issuer bank policy), vehicle RC Copy, Photo of the customer.
02. Full KYC FASTag account holder
- This type of FASTag account cannot have more than Rs. 1 Lakh limit in their IDBI FASTag (prepaid) account
- There is no monthly reload cap in this account.
- Requirements: Full KYC details (as per Issuer bank policy), vehicle RC Copy, Photo of the customer.
FAQs
It is a 10x 5 cm, rectangle shape, multi layered tag, which is made out of good quality paper, containing chip and antenna inside its layers, it is pasted on the wind screen of the vehicle, and through Radio frequency identification method, the information is read at the toll plaza from the tag. It gives convenience and ease while going through toll plaza to the customer along with saving time, fuel and money.
From 1st December all lane at National Highway toll plaza will be declared as dedicated FASTag Lane. Non -FASTag users will be charged double the fee if they pass through FASTag lanes.

A customer can either apply online via link provided at IDBI Bank website i.e. www.idbibank.in or apply offline by approaching our any Branch of IDBI Bank and/or any POS location in the country (attached as annexure-B), and with valid KYC documents and vehicle RC copy along with the originals for verifications purposes, (attached annexure-C), the customer can open his/her account in two categories:
- I. Limited KYC holder’s account, at any given point of time, this type of IDBI FASTag account cannot have more than Rs. 10,000/- in their FASTag (Prepaid) account. The monthly reload limit is also capped to Rs. 10,000/-.
- II. Full KYC Holders account, at any given point of time, this type of IDBI FASTag account cannot have more than Rs. 1 Lakh in their FASTag (prepaid) account. There is no monthly reload cap in this account.
The documents required are based on type of KYC opted by the user and thus divided into two parts:
- Limited KYC holder’s account: RC copy of the vehicle, ID and address proof (list attached). Photo of the customer
- Full KYC Holders account: RC Copy of the vehicle, ID and address proof (list attached), Photo of the Customer,
A customer may create personnel Tag account by registering online, and can have the facility of topping up the FASTag account through online modes i.e credit card, debit card, internet banking etc. The customer can also view and download history of past transactions, available balance in the account etc.
The tag has a validity of 5 years and after purchasing, you only need to recharge/ top up the tag as per your usage
We request you to kindly contact the IDBI bank customer service desk to report the double deduction issue. They will review your complaint and based on its merit, raise a chargeback for the duplicate transaction.
In case you have sold or transferred your vehicle, we would request you to inform your issuing bank about the same and close the account.
The vehicle owner/ user could approach the Issuer Agency for replacement of FASTag.
The primary point of contact for the vehicle owner/ user is the Bank Customer Care i.e. IHMCL can be approached as the next escalation level
The below given are the scenarios and their possible solutions:
- In case the tag reader of the plaza is not working, the customer may pay the toll in cash and can pass through the toll plaza.
- In case, the tag is not pasted correctly on the vehicle or not readable by the reader at the toll plaza, wherein the other vehicle tags are easily being read by the toll plaza:
- The customer may request the toll plaza owner to use the hand handled device to read the tag and can pass through the toll plaza.
- The customer may pay the toll in cash and can pass through.
- After that, the customer may approach the seller and to inform the issue
- The customer may call the customer care and inform the issue, the customer care will take up the issue with the Banks Point of Sale holder to approach the customer and resolve the issue free of cost.
The customer can approach either any point of sale location of the Bank or use online services i.e internet banking, customer portal, provided by the Bank to top up the customer wallet

The Tag holder shall give a written request for cancellation/surrender/closure of the Tag along with the Existing Tag. In case the plaza is not working, the customer will call customer care, Customer care representative will advise the customer to pay the toll in cash and will escalate the matter with NPCI for the particular toll plaza. In case the customer tag is faulty or not being read at the plaza, the customer may call up the help desk, help desk will advise the customer to pay the toll in cash, and will escalate the matter with the respective channel partner and its POS holder. The PoS holder will call the customer and will replace the Tag without any cost.

Submit your KYC documents to nearest IDBI Bank branch. TAT for KYC Updation is T+2 days.
A customer can replace the Tag by approaching our any Branch of IDBI Bank and/or any POS location. Replace tag is handover to the customer instantly.
Customer can update the VRN through self-care portal or by approaching any of IDBI Bank / any POS location. The VRN is updated in T+2 days.
The Tag holder shall give a written request for cancellation/surrender/closure of the Tag along with the Existing Tag. In case of the death of the customer, Legal heirs of the customer may claim the refund of the Tag amount after producing death certificate and other relevant documents. Closure proceed will be done within the TAT of 5 working days.
The Validity of FASTag is 90- days for the tags issued on Chassis Number, Tag is Automatically cancelled by 90th day. Customers can update the RC within 90 days by login to Bank website/IDBI ETC FASTag Customer Mobile App/visiting nearest Branch. For support Please call customer care-1800-266-1962
