SMS Banking

IDBI Bank’s SMS Banking facility is available to all the customers who maintain Savings, Current Accounts or Fixed Deposits with IDBI, at no extra cost (However, the service provider may charge some nominal charges. Some of the service providers provide this facility as a complementary service). SMS Banking can be enabled without any additional device. For sending SMS messages, speech SIM card would suffice.

Basic Requirement
  • Get the phone enabled for SMS Banking service from your service provider
  • Set the SMSC message Centre Number on the mobile phone once your operator provides this number

Register yourself as a user with any of your nearest IDBI bank branch.


While using SMS Banking service using SMS, a user has to give a request as a short message through a mobile phone. The short message should be in a particular format. For availing SMS Banking services, message has to be sent to 9820346920 or 9821043718. After the message is sent, within few seconds, the user will receive a response on his or her mobile phone as a short message.

1. Balance enquiry

3. Last 3 Transactions

4. Cheque Payment Status (to ascertain whether the cheque is paid or not)

5. Request for cheque book

6. Request for statement one can u.se this
reference number to check the status of the request any time. The bank mails the
statement of account.

The reply message will contain the formats for all the options available for the uses as above.

Note: *In most of the messages the account number field is optional. If the account number is not provided in the message, the request would be applicable for the primary account as mentioned in the SMS Banking registration form. The customer can modify the primary account by using the 'change primary account' option available in SMS Banking facility.
